Join us for one of our favorite St. Joe’s summer traditions: Mass in the Park! We’ll gather just across the street at Sunrise Rotary Park for a beautiful evening of worship, followed by food, music, and fun for all ages. Whether you’re part of our parish or just want to see what it is all about, we’d love to welcome you! Please register below so we can plan well and make sure there’s plenty for everyone!
what to expect
Mass Details: Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Jake Beltran with concelebrant Fr. Emanuel Torres-Fuentes they will be assisted by Deacon George Kashmar and Deacon Dan Coughlin. Mass will begin at 5:00 PM.
What to Bring: Your family & friends, lawn chairs, blankets, and bug spray.
Food: Enjoy free burgers, hot dogs, chips, cold drinks, and ice cream after Mass.
Entertainment: Live music by Kings For A Weekend, a fun raffle, a scavenger hunt with prizes, and activities for all ages after Mass.
Parking: Parking is available in the rear of the church, by the Baird & Warner Real Estate building, the PNC bank parking lot, the BMO Harris Bank parking lot (across from Mickey Finn's), the McMurrough Funeral Chapel parking lots, and on surrounding streets. Due to the expected large turnout, please plan for additional time to find parking. Please note that Maple Avenue will not be available for parking.
Accessibility: Reserved handicapped parking and a convenient drop-off area will be on Broadway Street. Limited accessible seating is available near Broadway St., with Communion and food delivered to you.
Forecast: The weather looks good with a high of 95°, so please come prepared with sunscreen, water, a hat and sunglasses. We’ll have an extra tent for shade, and natural shade is available on the west and east sides of the park. For those who need to cool off, Mass audio will be piped into the church.
Rain Plan: If it is raining, the Mass will move inside the Church, and the festivities will go on in the Koenig Center. For updates, please check our social media.
Volunteering at Mass in the Park is a great way to get to know other parishioners in a very laid-back environment. Opportunities include set-up (manual labor!), food wrapping (great for families), kids' activities, food serving, and clean-up (again, manual labor!).
