Fr. Jake Beltran | Pastor
Jon Monroe | Chair
Jon Monroe serves as the Chair of the PPC. He seeks out good ideas wherever they come from, especially ideas that come with people ready to implement them. He strongly believes that our best days as a parish are ahead of us, and that we will work together to bring Christ's love to our world that desperately needs it. In his free time, nothing makes him happier than spending time with his wife and 3 kids. He is a computer programmer by trade.
Beth Kraft | Prayer and Worship Commission
Beth and her husband, Dan, have 3 daughters and have been parishioners of St. Joseph since moving to Libertyville in 2001. Over that time, the entire Kraft family has participated in many of the ministries that support our daily and weekend masses: Sacristan, Eucharistic Minister, Altar Server, Proclaimer, and Welcome Ministry. It is a blessing to serve this parish community and support all the faith-filled Prayer and Worship ministers who passionately devote their time to the St. Joseph community.
Beth Readel | Prayer and Worship Commission
Beth Readel serves as co-lead of the Prayer and Worship Commission. She entered the Catholic Church in 2023 after experiencing a profound call to Christ during Mass and developing a deep desire for the Eucharist. Beth considers her move to Libertyville and her connection to St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she completed OCIA, to be a grace-filled intercession of St. Joseph. Since joining the Church, she has felt called to serve in gratitude and teach others about the love and mercy of Jesus and the beauty of His Church. Beth has served in the Welcome Ministry, currently serves in OCIA ministry, and leads a young women’s small group.
Rebecca Sear | Social Justice Commission
Rebecca Sear is happy to serve as the Social Justice Commission Lead. The focus of the Social Justice Commission is to act as the living presence of Christ in our world as we serve one another in justice and compassion. We strive to serve those in need through the food pantry, care for creation, the bed ministry, employment ministry, international sharing, acts of kindness, conversations that matter, as well as many other community volunteering activities.
Rebecca's Catholic upbringing was highly focused on the social teachings of the church and she has been active in social justice in a variety of ways throughout her life. She and her husband, Tom, have three adult children who have been fortunate to have grown up in the St. Joseph Catholic community. Her family often says that this church is one of their favorite parts of Libertyville, their home for the past 20 years. The St. Joseph's community is vibrant, growing, generous, kind and inspiring: what a blessing to be a part of it.
Greg Kozak | Faith Formation Commission
Greg Kozak is humbled to serve as the Faith Formation Commission lead. He and his wife’s extended family traveled from all over Lake and northern Cook Counties to worship together at the drive-in mass during COVID-19 and were impressed with the forward-looking creativity and energy of the parish. He was further impressed with its concrete mission when he joined the Bed Building Ministry. As a result, he and his family became parishioners. Greg appreciates how many different things need to work together for a parish to function well, and he seeks to help the Faith Formation ministries collaboratively contribute to the vibrancy of the whole.
