The Sacrament of the Sick is celebrated during the 8:30 AM Mass on the 3rd Saturday of each month, or by arrangement.
The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is offered to those who are experiencing serious illness or significant health challenges. This includes not only physical illness, but also the heavy realities of mental and emotional suffering, chronic conditions, the effects of aging, or situations where a person’s health has taken a serious turn. This sacrament is meant to bring God’s healing presence, peace, and strength into moments when the body, mind, or spirit feels overwhelmed.
Anointing of the Sick is not only for those who are near death. It is a sacrament of comfort and hope, meant to remind us that we are not alone in our suffering and that God meets us in our most vulnerable moments. If someone receives this sacrament and later recovers, they may receive it again if they face another serious illness or a worsening of their condition in the future.
Through this sacrament, the Church prays for healing, courage, forgiveness, and deeper trust in God’s care, whatever the outcome may be. It is a gentle and grace filled reminder that even in sickness, in all its forms, God is close, attentive, and full of compassion.
