September 5, 2025We are excited to announce that construction on a new parish and school playground will begin soon! This project will provide our children with a safe and welcoming space to play on our campus, featuring new equipment, secure fencing, and a rubberized surface.
Why a New Playground?
Every week, hundreds of children come to St. Joseph Catholic School and Children’s Faith Formation classes. They are learning, growing, and discovering what it means to be followers of Jesus. A safe and welcoming space to play right here on our campus gives them room to build friendships, grow in community, and feel at home in their parish. This new playground on private property provides greater safety and security, as well as allowing us to use our resources more effectively, with less ongoing staffing and maintenance required. While it will be enjoyed regularly by St. Joseph Catholic School students, the playground area will also be a wonderful space available for Children's Faith Formation students, parish families, and parish events, helping us support the growing community of families here at St. Joe’s.
Funding
This project has long been recognized as both a need and a priority for our parish, and has been made possible through the generosity of donors. Our Finance Council has reviewed and approved this project, and we are deeply grateful for the generosity of our parish and school community that makes this possible.
Location & Parking
To make room for the new playground, the small school parking lot will be repurposed. While this does reduce some onsite parking, we have many additional parking options nearby, including Milpark Plaza, and we will be providing updated signage to help parishioners and guests find parking easily. We know this will be an adjustment, and we thank you for your patience as we make this transition together.
We can’t wait to see the laughter, joy, and community this playground will bring to St. Joe's. The project is already underway, with completion and a special blessing and dedication celebration planned for this fall.
